Our Recreation Soccer program offers programs for players ages 4 to 19 years.
The Under-4, U/6 and Under-8’s leagues are a CGSA in-house program and all games are played in Savannah. To add a little more competitiveness, age groups U/10 through U/14’s (fall) and U-10 through U/14’s (spring) participate in a regional scheduling format. The region includes CGSA as well as teams from the district/regional clubs from Effingham, Richmond Hill and Hinsville. Games are home and away at certain age groups with the regional participants. Of the other teams in our district, recreational teams from Statesboro currently play "in-house" only, teams from Waycross play in a south-central Georgia league, and teams from Camden County participate in the North Florida league. Regional clubs predominantly play in-house with all U-8’s and younger.
Fees: U4 - U/8 - $70 registration fee plus $50.00 Adidas uniform fee (All players Spring 2011), U10 - U14 - $85 registration fee, $50.00 Adidas uniform fee (Youth sizes) and $50.00 for Adult sizes (All players spring 2011).
CGSA will again be offering it’s sucessful Recreational High School 7 v 7 League in the fall 2011. Players aged between 15 through 18 will be eligible for this league. The teams will play in an 8 week program and will play games only. Team training sessions will be optional and at the descretion of the team and team coach. Training times will only be available at off peak times during the season for this age group (For more information regarding this program, please call the CGSA office at 912-691 2472). High School fees: $60 registration, inclusive of t-shirt.
With 100 plus recreational teams, CGSA has the largest recreational and most successful soccer program in Savannahas well as in the region. With the participation of the regional organizations, we provide a recreational program that can serve our youth essentially through high school. Of CGSA’s over 2,000 registered players annually, approximately 70% participate in the recreational program.
CGSA coordinates the soccer program in the fall and spring with Chatham County. CGSA helps in facilitating the recreational soccer program for our Georgia district. CGSA recreational teams are not handpicked, but instead are grouped by age to learn, develop and train for the shear enjoyment of the game or as a springboard to participate in CGSA’s academy/select soccer program.
CGSA distinguishes itself by providing Savannah’s youth with the opportunity to either use the recreational program as a springboard to participate in CGSA’s academy/select program or, depending on the desires of the child/parents, continue to build skills and enjoy the sport in the recreational format through high school.
